Awaycation Summer 2024 - Day 13 & 14

Still here!!

We are still here on pitch 441. Once set up it didn't seem so bad. It's sunny. Things are always better when it's sunny.

This was intended to be a restful stop after the miles in the mountains and the longer drives from north of Madrid to the Mediterranean.

The beach is only about 200 yards away and it is dog friendly until June 15th and from October 1st.

It's very hot in the sun and so we waited until later in the day yesterday to take a walk from the site to have a look.

Some of the posts on review sites like TripAdvisor say how nice it is but it lacks cafés etc. That's true.

The seafront though has many traditional looking one storey buildings with the odd modern update slotted in. Curiously there is a section, prime building land, vacant.

We turned left and walked a fair way looking for the Puçol sign but didn't find it. Back the other way is the helados shop. It was packed. I guess it's Sunday and the only place open. There's a restaurant called Medina a few doors down but it was shuttered and didn't look like it was liable to open again... We had a coffee.

We walked towards the port at nearby Sagunto looking for the Puçol sign before Reggie decided he'd walked far enough. He was a different dog walking back!

There were loads of dogs out and Reggie had a sniff and play with a few. He enjoys himself when we get somewhere, it's the getting there he doesn't like.

Same as Sunday. Sit in the shade of the awning, although today it's breezier and so we had to fit the tie-downs.

Tomorrow we head north. I have a booking in Zaragoza. After that there's nothing planned.
