Awaycation Summer 2024 - Day 18

Rain gone?

It's hard to tell if the rain is over. After one night at Jarnac-Champagne with rain most of the evening and into the night to try and move north.

We have five nights before our final night at Guines. So where to go? How about Mont St Michel?

The Camping-Car Park site is massive and this morning it was showing 115 free spaces. I booked one night. It's Friday and many sites and aires are fully booked up.

Another first on this trip I set the satnav to tolls. How much that will cost is something we'll find out when Emovis bill me.

We set off at 1128 and arrived here at 1820. We had a stop after two hours to have lunch

Another to fill the tank at an Auchun, and we nipped in for a few bits. Then a last stop for Reggie to have a break.

The site here is massive. It can take 180 units all on properly demarcated spaces. All with electric.

We'll probably stay here two nights or maybe three. We'll see what the weather brings tomorrow. Whilst the site is huge, it's very quiet.

Out of the back of the site is a footpath to the Mont itself. After dinner (Asturian Fabada and lentils and chips done in the air fryer) we had a walk along the path to take in the view of the Mont. I left my phone so any photos will be Claire's.

Reggie has been a little off again today. A few trips out overnight to the loo, then once here he puked up a load of grass again. He's not eaten any since the day before yesterday!

So currently he's on the nil by mouth diet until tomorrow. Something has affected his system and it needs to be flushed out

Tomorrow? Maybe we'll try some of that 5km walk to the Mont... Dogs aren't allowed on the shuttle buses. Very shortsighted. Simply say they have to be muzzled!
