Awaycation Summer 2024 - Day 19

Beauvoir Mont St Michel

We decided with Reggie still showing signs of a "delicate" stomach that we would stay a second night here, and then head towards Calais a little early.

Today we were up slightly earlier and went to the shop next to the Aire and invested in some gifts for our neighbour who looks after the nail and the garden when we are away. Except we changed our minds and kept them. We will get her something else!!!

Next stop the bakery. Baguettes and cakes. Then across the road to this really nice little coffee shop called "Restau Soleil". Its run by a young couple. The attraction is the beautiful Airstream style caravan in gold.

The coffee was good too.

Then we loafed about until it cooled a little and then set off for the Mount. We got further than yesterday, but only about maybe 500m. The épicerie was open and we decided to have our only meal out of the entire holiday!

The menu for crêpes and gallettes was extensive. I fancied a savoury gallette but ended up ordering two crêpes with salted caramel sauce. They were superb....

Then it was back to the van.

Tomorrow we are going to move nearer Buchy where Reggie is booked in at 4pm on the 28th. If he is still a little unwell then we can get him to the vet there.
