Meriden Birthday Weekend

Day 1

The Ohrex calculated that today we would have a journey of 187 miles from home to the campsite.

So setting off at around 1120am should have seen us sail up to Warwickshire in around three and a half hours.

First problem. The M40 was closed part way up. The M25 was showing huge delays as they build refuges off the carriageway on the so called smart motorways.

The simplest option would have been to scrap smart motorways and re-instate the left lane as the hard shoulder or safety lane.

We decided to go Dartford and the M1. Basically from the M20 it was solid traffic until the M45*... The number of roadworks is staggering.

We eventually arrived and checked in around 5.45pm.

We set up on pitch 30. The site looks to be a YouTube vloggers meet-up. Too many to mention them all but Claire chatted with them all. We got some stickers and a Poshcats mug.

Nice to have met them.

We went to the dog walk with Reggie before returning to Molly for cider and snacks, then dinner ...

Tomorrow we have the birthday party but it's not until 7.30pm. We have to think of something to occupy us before the event...
